Gina's Adorable Baby Bump:: Connecticut Maternity Photographer
Even though these photos were taken just 3 weeks ago it feels like it's been ages because Baby A is already here!! I wish I could describe how exciting it is for me to reconnect with Gina. It's so amazing getting to see someone whom you've known since you were 12 years old become closer and closer to becoming a mother. Gina and AJ are going to be amazing parents and fill their baby's life with so much happiness and laughter.

I knew it... but I can't take all the credit.
I took maternity portraits of Gina a few weekends ago and I will be sharing some of those images shortly but her baby shower was just a few days ago and one image is begging to be blogged. Gina was a huge part of my adolescence in so many ways. The hours I spent at her house fill my mind with so many memories. Seeing her mom for the first time since graduation was so heart warming and there was so much excitement in the air because her only child is having a baby.
I asked mommy and grandmother-to-be to get close to one another for a photo and this is what they did. When I was snapping away I could just tell that this was going to be my favorite image. I told them to pose a certain way but this is what they did instead and I couldn't be happier.

I love every thing about this photograph!!!

Because Spider-Man is Awesome
I met Brittany of Blossoming Bellies when I was looking for a doula when I was pregnant with Jonah. I couldn't believe I met someone so encouraging, spirited and patient to help me and Joel during the last stages of my pregnancy. I no longer felt scared about delivery, but empowered and educated. Her help didn't end when my baby was born- it carries on as I tend to still rely on her for advice.
Before I left Philadelphia I was able to do a family session with Britt and her family. It was so much fun hanging out with her son who was Spiderman for the afternoon. He jumped, scaled fences and even threw out his spidey web. This is why I love photographing kids!!!

Chris & Jodi: love love love :: New York Portrait Photographer
Over the past two years I have gotten to know Jodi through her photographs on flickr; learning that she loves color (especially aqua), NYC, anthroplogie, cupcakes and is always down for hanging out. Even though our friendship is still new I feel really lucky to be able to call this girl a friend. And I was super honored when she wanted me to take photos of her and her hubby for their 10 year wedding anniversary. We got together in Dumbo and I just had a great time capturing their silliness and love.

you can check out some of Jodi's work on her flickr page (which in my opinion is a beautiful love letter to NYC & color) and her portrait project on autoimmune diseases.

Paulina & Meameno
Paulina & Meameno are the two girls that Namibian Dreams worked so hard to get to the states as their first goal of this organization. Even though the girls spent the entire day at the Philadelphia Zoo they still had enough energy to ham it up for my camera.
I love Meameno's expressive eyes and Paulina's vivacious smile.

Namibian Dreams
Alright... so I am very behind on my blog posts. Dan & Kathryn were just married this past weekend and although those images will have to wait a bit, I thought I would post about their joint organization: Namibian Dreams. Dan and Kathryn spent all of 2008 in Namibia working as volunteers for World Teach. During their time in Omungwelume they got to know so many wonderful people, especially two extraordinary girls: Paulina and Meameno! Upon their return home to Philadelphia Kathryn and Dan knew they wanted to continuing working with the community in Omungwelume and came up Namibian Dreams. My writing could never do their intentions justice so please check out namibiandreams.org and read for yourself how wonderful this organization is!!!

James Family
I had such a fun time with the James Family at Valley Forge. We found a great place to play in the grass, catch butterflies and ladybugs, explore log cabins and pose like George Washington.

Thank you guys for letting me spend the morning with you- Joel and I had a great time. Next session you can wear all white and pose like the couple from Juno.

My parents
I love my parents- it's absolutely no lie. It's frightening how much I am like both of them. I don't have my father's humor or my mother's sassiness but I find moments where I am saying something my father would say or dancing like my mother. I don't like when too much time passes and I don't get to see them so I was really excited when they came down for a weekend- I almost didn't let them leave. Before they headed back home I was able to grab some shots of the two them.

it really doesn't take much for my dad to make my mom laugh
my mother is the most confident woman I know and I am so grateful
